Who Am I?

PhD candidate at Polytechnic Engineering School (Poli – USP), Masters in Science from Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research (IPEN – USP) and Bachelor in Architecture and Urbanism (University of Sao Paulo – USP).

Goal-oriented hybrid researcher and developer, skilled in integrating humanities and technology. Multidisciplinary education in civil construction (design, planning and construction), design (industrial, graphic and interactive), computing (visualization and interactive software, games), arts (music and visual arts), writing and entrepreneurship. National and international experience in several technological and science-based interdisciplinary projects. Captures and understands languages, goals and priorities of professionals and researchers from several areas, specially engineering, social and biological sciences in the context of complex projects.

Hobbies: sports (roller skiing, running, cycling, speed skating, cross training), inventing gadgets, cooking, playing classical guitar, coffee and beer connoisseur

  • Two works selected for 2016 ACM Siggraph VR Village. One work selected for 2017 Siggraph Emerging Technologies.

  • Works selected for 3 editions of IEEE 3D User Interfaces Context. 2nd place at the 2015 IEEE 3D User Interfaces Context for the project “Crosscale”. 2nd place at the 2017 IEEE 3D User Interfaces Context for the project “Batmen Beyond”.

  • PhD CNPq federal research scholarship (current).

  • Master research CNPq federal research scholarship (2012 –2013).

  • Three CNPq federal undergraduate research scholarships (2006, 2007 and 2009).

Some of my highlights

Practical knowledge integration in technological products within multidisciplinary projects contexts, aiming tackling relevant contemporary issues. Particular interest in: Human-Computer Interaction; human-centered value-based interactive systems; communication and perceptual issues of 3D interaction and visualization; participative development methodologies; project and design methodologies; interactive tools, methods and systems for advancements in visualization and active learning methodologies; knowledge incorporation in software to empower citizens with creative capabilities; generative architecture for knowledge democratization and creation of virtual worlds for compelling and novel experiences; artificial intelligence and creativity.

Five years’ experience with action research methodology applied to software development. Comprehensive experience in HCI research methodologies and interactive software development for multiple platforms (desktop, mobile and virtual reality systems), using conventional and agile methodologies. Virtual scenarios (or level design) creation methodologies adopting architectonic and urbanistic criteria. Conventional and parametric methodologies for 3D modelling for virtual models and 3D printing. Graphic design skills for visual identity, logos and layouts, using vetorial drawing software. Experience in technical and scientific writing and revision. Comprehensive experience on 3D printing technology (laser cutting, polymer extrusion, paper cutting, milling). Good knowledge and comprehension of computer hardware. Technology and programming: Unity 3D and Unreal game engines, Blender, WebGL. Programming with Python, Javascript, C#, C++ and C, using conventional or object-oriented approaches.
